Jan Habermann has studied physics in Darmstadt and Tübingen. During his studies Jan Habermann has developed as an intern a software progamme concerning the exact positioning with satellites at the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) of ESA in Darmstadt that is still in use for several satellites. He wrote his diploma thesis in nuclear physics at the French research institution CEA-Saclay near Paris as part of an international co-operation programme between several research institutes. Since 2000 Jan Habermann works in the field of industrial property rights and is a founding partner of the law firm Katscher Habermann established in 2003. Jan Habermann is married since 2001 and has three children. He is a member of GRUR and a member of the development association of the Patent Information Centre in Darmstadt. Since 2009 he gives lectures in patent law and in all other areas of industrial property law.
